Multiple programs and applications within the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies in order to visualize, update, integrate, manage and analyze spatial data pertaining to the well-being of Colorado's public health and environment.

GIS activities and users at CDPHE are supported by a dedicated group of staff who work to:

  • Actively contribute in projects and programs that utilize GIS technologies
  • Create useful GIS products to help address the Ten Winnable Battles
  • Collect, maintain, and manage Public Health and Environmental GIS Data
  • Provide CDPHE employees and the public with access to appropriate GIS data and products for use in analyses
  • Increase the capacity of GIS users within CDPHE
  • Provide training on the use of GIS technologies to public health and environmental professionals
